This is a pretty elaborate dress. There’s a lot going on up top. And yet, for some reason, on Amanda Seyfried, it’s almost ...unremarkable. Why is that?

God I really, really need to find a reason to wear my hair in a maiden’s braid bun. Hers, for sure, is a hairpiece. Most people, no matter how much hair they have, would need a hairpiece for it, just to make the loop that much cleaner. Here’s an advantage that the blonde has over the dark hair though. When I’ve worn a braid crown, before, in photos it’s so hard to tell. Because it’s just one mass of blackness. Lighter hair makes for better differentiation.
