“Is Ozempic ruining friendships” is the kind of headline that guarantees a click. What’s in the article, though, isn’t so much about Ozempic, or any other weight loss drug, as it is what happens when you undergo a life change and not everyone is on board with the new you. Although, there is an added element because people have such big feelings about weight loss drugs, in general, as many see it as “cheating”, as if suffering and yo-yo dieting and the mental toll of “failing” to reach goals is something to be desired, so people feel the need to commentate other people’s choices. As long as a health care provider is involved, whose business is it, though? (Popsugar)
Today in FAFO news, feed one (1) raccoon, get one hundred (100) raccoons. (Celebitchy)
Seeing “Dallas” and “culture” in the same sentence made me laugh because Dallas’s culture is football and car dealerships. But the revitalization of a historically Black district is leading people to ask if all the new nightclubs are really adding anything to the city’s cultural landscape. I wish cities would put more thought into what businesses they license to operate, because then it might force developers to consider things like “does my business contribute to the community in which it resides”, but in true Dallas fashion, they’re going for the cash, and only the cash. Just in time for Halloween, it’s the legend of the Cù Sith, the Scottish death dog (its Irish counterpart is the Cù Sidhe, and in Wales the death dog is Cwn Annwn). Over the centuries they’ve evolved from faery collaborators to the hounds of the Wild Hunt, they’re usually depicted as black but sometimes they’re green, and they’re the reason we often associate black dogs with death and other disasters. But they’re not bad boys! Like all dogs, Cù Sith is the goodest spooky boy. (Atlas Obscura)
