It’s been a while since we’ve seen Andrew Garfield on a press tour. Not since Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt, I think?

He’s now promoting The Magic Faraway Tree, last night was the premiere in London, and since it happened a few days after the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer was released, he was asked about it on the red carpet.

Well now he just shamed me, because I am always watching sh-t at volume in the makeup chair. Should I not be? Sometimes it’s for work, like when I’m screening a film or a series for ETALK. A lot of times, if I’m honest, it’s BTS fancams and other related videos. Or Chinese dramas. I need to take a minute and reconsider my life choices.

Back to Andrew, and his upcoming work schedule. After The Magic Faraway Tree, the next anticipated project is another collaboration with Luca Guadagnino: Artificial, the film about OpenAI, in which he plays Sam Altman. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not this will be like The Social Network and how that film treated Mark Zuckerberg, not exactly a flattering portrait. Rather chilling, in fact, in hindsight.

Filming on Artificial wrapped last fall and they should be able to get through post by festival season so it wouldn’t be surprising if we’re looking at a premiere at the Venice Film Festival… but now we’re just getting ahead of ourselves. Just know that later this year there will be Discourse about Artificial and his performance in a film that presumably addresses yet another controversial tech bro billionaire who is destroying humanity.

For now, let’s talk about his hair, which is longer and shaggy and messy and… I don’t hate it? I think I might love it. And I definitely love his cute little lambs cardigan. This is S.S. Daley and it comes in a few colourways. If you’re not familiar with the brand, they’re known for knitwear, they’re on the pricey side, and they go viral often with Josh O’Connor who has been seen several times in their sweaters, like the duck sweater, currently available in grey.

Josh appears to love S.S. Daley because he has a whole collection of their sweaters – also the dachshund from a couple of seasons ago.

Like I said, S.S. Daley’s sweaters aren’t cheap, but they’re also substantial, the quality is there, you feel the cost of it when you put one on. Not a piece that will fall apart after too many wears. And this green looks really good on Andrew.
