Angelina Jolie was seen with Vivienne the other day at Urban Outfitters. It’s not uncommon to see her shopping with her kids – that’s not why I’m posting. What made me laugh about these shots is not the images themselves (a mom with her kid picking up new clothes) but the caption from the photo agency: “Angelina Jolie and her daughter …shop for a bargain at Urban Outfitters”.
I mean, they’re not wrong. Urban Outfitters is a pretty accessible price point, but Angelina’s not there for the price point. The reason she’s there is TEEN.
Vivienne is 13 years old, she’s getting taller all the time, and if her older sister, Shiloh, is any indication, she’ll end up as tall as her mother, if not taller. Look at her in sneakers next to Angelina who was wearing heels:
But this is not jut about height. It’s also about style. At 13, Vivienne and her siblings are dressing the way other adolescents their age are dressing and shopping where they’re shopping. Angelina is mom to five teens. There is a lot of shopping happening. And I wonder if there’s a lot of borrowing and trading of clothing. Or fighting over clothing. That’s another thing with teens and hormones – can you imagine the mood swings in that house?!
