Angelina Jolie plus all six of her kids are in isolation together. But first, Angelina’s $1 million donation to No Kid Hungry was announced yesterday. In a statement posted to the organisation’s website, Angelina wrote:

“As of this week, over a billion children are out of school worldwide because of closures linked to coronavirus. Many children depend on the care and nutrition they receive during school hours, including nearly 22 million children in America who rely on food support. No Kid Hungry is making resolute efforts to reach as many of those children as possible.”

In addition to the food support, think also of parents, many of them single parents, who – if they’re not employed in essential services – are now at home managing alone, while figuring out the grocery shopping and the daily meals, and making sure their kids are keeping up with school work. I’ve received several messages from parents the last couple of weeks who have kindly reminded me that, yes, there are people who are home and streaming whatever they can stream. But there are also those who have no time to stream content because they’re too busy coordinating parenting and work-from-home duties and it’s actually more intense than ever. To those of you out there who are in this position, I bow to you. And thank you if you’re reading this in bed, exhausted, and looking for a distraction at the end of a very long day. Angelina, of course, is a single parent who is helping others feed their kids because she doesn’t have to worry about feeding her kids. All six of them. PEOPLE reports that Maddox is now home. Maddox is now a student at Yonsei University in Seoul. I was just wondering about him last week and how worried Angelina must have been when the outbreak starting happening in South Korea. Since classes are cancelled, Maddox has returned to America to be with family. Ironically, South Korea has been able to see some success in flattening the curve with infection rates falling and many countries are now looking to their example. In the US, however, the number of new cases is sharply rising. Now would be a good time to repeat: please isolate, please stay at home as much as you can!

For now then, Angelina’s home is back to seven. Reminds me of a BTS song on their new album called “We Are Bulletproof: Eternal”. The lyrics go:

“We were only seven
But we have you all now”

BTS is South Korean. An Angelina-BTS crossover via Maddox is possible… one day?
