Kim and Lewis: Week 2

Exactly a week ago it was a brand new gossip story – Kim Kardashian in the Cotswolds with Lewis Hamilton, a potential new celebrity romance. And then they showed up in Paris together, amid all the speculation, which pretty much convinced the internet that this is definitely a thing. Neither one has confirmed it but…

They were at the Benito Bowl together last night. Which suggests that they’ve been inseparable for at least a week and a half, from England to France and on Sunday in California, at the biggest spectacle in America, seemingly unbothered by the rumours and also not trying to hide.

Not only are they not hiding, my Video Assumption (our favourite game of baseless conclusions) read of this moment is that Kim and Lewis are actually flirting. He looks like he’s teasing her about something, and she’s all like, oh really?, yeah whatever, but her tongue, peeking out the side of her mouth, betrays her, or at least counteracts the skepticism. It’s positive reinforcement that she’s enjoying the game – and not the one being played as a sideshow to Bad Bunny. 

But of course she’s enjoying it. No one is enjoying it more besides her mother. Lewis is an icon, and she’s attached herself to yet another high profile, eligible bachelor, one of the most eligible bachelors. Lewis, by the way, isn’t exactly innocent here either. At this point he should understand exactly what the Kardashians represent and the amount of smoke they generate in pop culture. He does not look like he’s been taken prisoner in this situation. Rather, he’s a willing participant…

In a legitimate romance or some kind of partnership we’ve yet to hear about? There are some people who are predicting that Kris Jenner is about to become Lewis’s manager as he nears retirement. I don’t know why this has to be a conspiracy though. Like, maybe the man is just horny.
