Preparations in Paris?

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have been in Paris the last few days with their kids. Before Paris the last time they were papped was a couple of weeks ago in New York – basically anywhere but Los Angeles, understandably, after that terrifying incident with the shooter outside the house. So we’ll focus on other things…

There are so many reasons for RiRi and Rocky to be in Paris. Both have all kinds of fashion business to attend to, and we’re also now less than a month out from the Met Gala where they are considered regulars. No confirmation, obviously, that they’ll be there but given how close we are to the event, and Met Gala looks take months of planning, it’s possible that that’s why they’re in town, for adjustments and fittings.

On that note, the Carters were also in Paris last week. Jay-Z and Pharrell were seen at dinner, Blue and Rumi were also papped, but Beyoncé remained undercover, shielded by umbrellas while entering and exiting. There hasn’t been a decent pap shot of her in months. And she hasn’t posted on Instagram since the Super Bowl. So she’s doing what she can to remain unseen until the Met Gala. As we know, Beyoncé is one of the co-chairs this year, and it’s her first time attending in a decade. So, no doubt, she’s planning a LOOK. And may have been in Paris related to whatever the look might be. Which makes sense, even more than her usual ninja style, that she doesn’t want to give away a shot of herself until the one shot that delivers the most impact.

But it’s not just about what Beyoncé will wear, it’s also about why she’s even agreed to it. Beyoncé doesn’t need the Met Gala and she definitely doesn’t need to co-chair it as a favour to Anna Wintour. Will her appearance there represent something more significant? Or…maybe this is just clowning and she and Jay were in Paris for their anniversary on Saturday. It’s been 18 years!
