Travis Kelce announced a few weeks ago that he’s putting off retirement, and will return to play his 14th season in the NFL with Kansas City. Shortly after the confirmation, ESPN’s Nate Taylor reported that Travis and Taylor Swift would get married before training camp. Which makes sense because you would expect that Travis would be totally focused on training and practice and game performance from the start of camp – presumably in July – to the end of the season. Which would be, at the latest, February 14, 2027, or a few weeks before, depending on how well the team plays.

This leaves a short window between now and July for the wedding, if they’re actually getting married this year. And June 13 happens to be a Saturday, Taylor’s favourite number, so everyone’s zeroing in on this as their wedding date like it’s a done deal. Including Us Weekly, the magazine’s cover story this week is the “exclusive” on the TNT wedding countdown.

In the article, which claims to have exclusive details about the wedding that really only amount to the most generic quotes that anyone would say about any two people planning a wedding, the magazine doubles down on June 13, claiming that their sources have confirmed it, and the location too: Rhode Island.

I understand the compulsion – Taylor Swift is always big news, and any reporting about the wedding, true or not, generates a chain reaction of commentary and TikTok takes and this is what everyone’s chasing in these times. But also, we’re now all well aware that there are no consequences to this kind of reporting, period; not when it’s celebrity news and definitely not when it’s geopolitical news and certainly not when the lies are coming from the seat of power in the United States. Why not claim to know when and where Taylor and Travis are getting married even if you don’t? After all, didn’t I just take the bait?

That said, I’m so petty that I want all of these people to be wrong, LOL. If Taylor’s wedding is actually on a different day, everyone assuming that it’s on June 13 would help her and Travis keep the real date secret, and move accordingly. It wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility for Taylor to deliberately leak wrong information to protect the right information. Or does she care that much about numerology that June 13 has always been the day circled on the calendar?

If that’s the case, please be prepared for the internet to be in f-cking shambles on June 13, 2026. Because Taylor won’t be the one owning it. June 13 is known to many of us to mean only one thing: BTS FESTA. It’s their anniversary and they’ve always gone big for FESTA. FESTA 2026 could be their biggest FESTA yet, since this is a comeback year – after four years of hiatus. Between BTS and ARMY and TNT, if there’s to be a wedding, we might be in for bandwidth issues across all platforms.
