Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their virtual holiday card late last week, shortly after Harry’s most recent legal victory over the British tabloids. There was no missing finger, in fact there were no kids period. The point of the card was their work, as it came with a link to Archewell’s impact report and the video that they’d already shared highlighting the foundation’s key moments over the last year.
The photo was taken from the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in September, probably the professional highpoint of their 2023. Meghan wore a green dress to the event, which is likely why they chose green for the colour of the card.
That’s what I’m here to talk about – it’s a holiday card, and there are some of us who do not recognise green as a holiday colour! Including the Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey! Green might be in Mimi’s background, and maybe here and there in the minor details and accents, but you hardly notice it when Mimi’s doing Christmas. And it is certainly never on her body, OMG.
Red, of course, and white and gold and silver, all of these are her festive colours. But green. Never. There was no green in her PEOPLE Magazine Christmas feature…
…in fact the only greens she knows are the “anointed” ones, which she cooks, for another holiday: Thanksgiving.
The point is, the green is not giving at this time of year! Are we fighting about it or what?
