As Seen On Social Media: Emma Heming Willis’s jeans, Emma Stone’s sunglasses, Meghan in mustard
Emma Heming Willis’s jeans
Lainey wrote about the work Emma Heming Willis has been doing for her husband Bruce and to advocate for caregivers, a (largely) silent and unseen network of people. With that, she’s been making the rounds and I got a request via The Squawk. When I saw it was jeans, I thought it would be nearly impossible. Jeans are a tough one. But there’s something specific about these, the barrel shape and the darts, that helped. These are from Madewell (the exact pair is here)– just a warning that Shopbop is owned by Amazon - and there are several washes on the Madewell website.
Madewell is decent denim, as is Abercrombie – never underestimate a solid mall brand. Madewell is also doing a collab with Dakota Fanning and I’m seriously considering both stripe tees.
Meghan Sussex in mustard
Has anyone else noticed Meghan has stopped posting affiliate links to her clothes? Maybe it’s in anticipation of her own line? Anyway, I had a request come in for a mustard yellow shirt she wore on season two of With Love, Meghan. The reader guessed it’s Heidi Merrick, which is solid intel because Meghan does like that brand. (Below, she’s wearing the cardigan.) But it’s damn spendy.
When I’m looking for a decent dupe, I always start with fabric and this one is 100% Tissue Linen. The closest I found in colour and fabric is this men’s shirt from Love Brand, a UK beachwear line. Banana Republic also makes one, but it’s a popover and not a full button-up. Hope this helps, Violeta!
Emma Stone in Venice
At first glance, I was very excited for the Emma Stone sunglasses because I thought they were definitely Persol. My work here is done!
But at second glance, the details were not exactly right. There’s a Balenciaga and Celine pair that are similar to this, but for an exact match my money is on the Lapima’s Maria frames. The black is sold out but these Tom Ford Carmen sunglasses are pretty close, as are these Celine frames. But if you have a tendency to lose your sunglasses (I don’t just lose sunglasses – I have sat on them, run them through the wash and stepped on them), check a discount retailer for acetate oval frames.
