Jodie Turner-Smith’s slouchy green tote

A week back I mentioned Jodie Turner-Smith, who is a slay on the red carpet. On her way to being one of the greatest red carpet dressers of her generation. But I’ve been sleeping on her street style, which you can see here. (We should rename street style to farmer’s market style because that’s where all the celebs are now.)

In the photos I just linked to, she is carrying the Delvaux Brilliant Tempo bag. Nearly $10k and buyers need to “register their interest.” Fancy. But if you like the brand and the style of bag, Fashionphile has some used options for a lot less.

Jennifer Aniston: Queen of tees

Yesterday in Celebrity Social Media I said Kate Hudson owns the butter yellow dress. It got me thinking of what other celebrities “own” in terms of their style and it coincides nicely with Jennifer Aniston. She’s not a fashion plate (nor do I think she strives to be) but she owns the black red carpet dress and t-shirts. For decades (yes, it’s been that long) we have either seen her in a black dress or a t-shirt, jeans, and flip flops or wedges with Jennifer Meyer jewellery. We can pull it from memory. She is consistent.

Jen recently appeared on the Armchair Expert podcast wearing a gray (gray-blue?) t-shirt that fit her really well. I strongly suspect it’s from Perfect White Tee (apt name), specifically the Mindy style in Ash. It’s $126 and there are fit notes on sizing, so be sure to read those if you are going for it. If you are looking for a dupe, Aritzia has a ribbed homestretch tee and a few styles are on sale, but there’s plenty of colour and sizing options. (Thanks for reaching out long-time caller Jennifer!)

Only Coats in the Building: Meryl Streep edition

Only Murders in the Building requests are common but it’s usually for Selena Gomez (the coat budget on this show must be significant). I recently received one for Meryl Streep and because the show is shot a season back, pieces are usually not that hard to find. This shimmery trench coat really stumped me though. I thought Armani, Michael Kors, Ted Baker, maybe even Burberry. Turns out it’s a custom piece, a tailor with the handle @burlesquebrigade posted about it on Threads here. For those of us who ship the real-life Martin and Meryl, this is adorable because the coat was made for him and found its way into her closet. Art imitating life, etc and so forth.

Fashionable PS: Cross-waist jeans for Cindy. Yes, those are R13. I’m not an expert in cross-waist jeans but Lainey is and recently wrote about them here with some great recommendations.
