August is a little bit of a movie doldrums as studios tend to put out anything they think won’t stand up to the expectations of either peak summer movie season or fall awards season, but one movie I am really looking forward to this month is Caught Stealing. 

 

It’s Darren Aronofsky’s new crime caper starring Austin Butler, Zoë Kravitz, Regina King, Vincent D’Onofrio, Liev Schreiber, D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Matt Smith, and Bad Bunny (among others, the cast is stacked). The film comes out on August 29, and the press tour kicked off last night with an event in Puerto Rico featuring Darren Aronofsky, Austin Butler, and Bad Bunny.

 

We will officially be in business when Zoë Kravitz joins the party, but for now, I will settle for Austin Butler and Bad Bunny. Look at them. They are beautiful.

 

Bad Bunny in glasses is really accomplishing something. Also, Darren Aronofsky is blessedly scarf-free (for now). She wasn’t at this event, but the marketing team behind Caught Stealing clearly knows they have gold with Austin and Zoë, building the marketing around them basically just being insanely hot together.

 

Are they or aren’t they? For the film it doesn’t matter, the chemistry is the point. Although I hope this isn’t another Anyone But You scenario where the romantic leads have insane chemistry on social media only to be flat as still water on screen in the movie itself. I don’t THINK it will be that way, because when has Zoë Kravitz ever NOT had chemistry with a co-star, but Anyone But You has made me wary of social media marketing traps. This better not be a trap!
