Page Six has new exclusive shots of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez in the car in LA yesterday. It’s LA so it means they’re moving at a crawl, and Photo Assumption has JLo frustrated by the traffic although, really, she’s just leaning her head back, it’s not like she looks super annoyed. To me the more interesting facial expression is the look on Ben’s face as he’s glancing at her. It’s familiarity and affection and amusement and isn’t that why we’re here? If I had to write a scene about the look he’s giving her it would be an inner monologue – I can’t believe she’s back in the car with me, I can’t believe I get to do this again, I’m driving her back to her place after spending the night at mine, this is so good, please don’t let me f-ck this up.
On that note, JLo did an interview a few days ago with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden and This Is Me…Then came up, which of course is her 2002 album, the one with Ben Affleck all over it. She was talking about why people are revisiting it now, and why people have continued to connect to it. Her answer:
"The name of that album was This Is Me... Then. That was a moment. When you go back and hear that, you hear the purity and the love there. And I think that's why people went back as they saw different things happening in my life now and they go, 'Wow, really?' And I think it gave people hope. Some things do last forever.”
So…the music? Or the feelings? It applies to both but it doesn’t matter because God, she is good, right? She knows exactly what she’s doing there.
Attaching some shots of JLo out with her children running errands yesterday. It’s a pretty casually dressed outing by her standards. My eyes immediately went to her shoes because I’m trying to figure out if they’re FILA Disruptor 2. These days most big chunky sneakers look similar but my preferred fit is the Disruptor which I lived in all last summer because they’re light and they’re well-priced. In Canada right now you can get them on sale for under $80. I like the height of them and the way they look with shorts, similar to how JLo is modelling whatever her sneakers are here.
