Annette Bening, Jennifer Lawrence, and Hilary Swank were all at the Hollywood Awards last night. Bening and Lawrence look to be locks on Best Actress nominations. Swank for Conviction has a good chance too. And now they say Halle Berry is coming in on the ride as her next film Frankie & Alice has just been moved up to a December release, in time for Academy consideration (source).

Ohhhhhhh....

Is that what this is about?

But it’s such a strong year. And there are only 5 spots. And there will certainly be more than 5 worthy candidates including, in addition to the aforementioned, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, Michelle Williams, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, and at least 3 or 4 more.

We’re at the end of October now. It’ll get very intense, very soon. And this award season is said to be the tightest in years.
