For the record, I think she was robbed for American Beauty and I think she was inexcusably robbed for Being Julia. Criminal that Hilary Swank has two and the incomparable Annette has nothing, don"t you think? Still…unless Ms Streep gets a nod for Prada, I"ll be gutted if Ms Bening doesn"t walk away with what"s rightly hers next February. Especially since she seems to have captured the essence of Deirdre so perfectly from what I saw in the short but delightful Running with Scissors preview. If you haven"t read the memoir, you MUST. It is a f&cking scream. And with a cast including my Gwyneth, Alec Baldwin, Joseph Fiennes, Vanessa Redgrave, and Brian Cox, produced by Brad Pitt"s company, it is being hailed as one of the strong contenders for next season. Did I mention my Gwynnie"s in it? The trailer is here but seriously, y"all…read the book first.
