Bradley Cooper on tour

A Star is Born is two weeks from today. I’m excited for you to see it. I’m excited for you to see Lady Gaga. Or to UN-see Lady Gaga. And I’m excited to talk about all the parts we need to talk about, what worked for you (most of it worked for me) and what didn’t work for you. ASIB is going to be a big movie. As Sarah said in her review, it’s a crowd-pleaser. I know so many people who saw it at TIFF and practically collapsed from all the feels when it was over. And they’ll be seeing it again on opening weekend, they still can’t get over it. I’ll probably see it again on opening weekend too. So it’s going to be very interesting what this box office will look like, what kind of pop cultural impact it will make, whether or not the soundtrack is going to be the soundtrack of the last quarter of 2018. Whether or not "The Shallow" will be one of those monumental movie songs that everyone will know all the words to. And of course, how much Oscar momentum it will pick up on the strength of the public’s reaction to it.

Ahead of the LA premiere next week, Bradley Cooper has been touring the film across the US. He was in Chicago on Monday, Nashville on Tuesday (photos attached), Dallas on Wednesday, and was at Google yesterday for a Q&A:

This weekend there are more planned screenings. Warner Bros knows this is a hit. They’re doing whatever they can to make it a monster hit. And of course all of the marketing falls to Gaga and Coop, since it’s her first major movie role – and she’s wonderful – and his first time directing and he has a starring role, and it’s possible he could pick up as many as 5 or 6 Oscar nominations. So this is just the beginning of a very, very long campaign.

Today in the open I threw down my (very early) predication for the 2018 PEOPLE Magazine Sexiest Man Alive: Michael B Jordan. Bradley Cooper was the Sexiest Man Alive in 2011. Do you remember the rumour that year? The rumour was that it was offered to Ryan Gosling first – and he declined. It has never been his deal. Interestingly, at this point, Bradley Cooper is a lock for a Best Actor nomination. Most experts seem to think that Ryan Gosling will be nominated for Best Actor too for his performance in First Man. That might be the heavyweight bout, right there – Coop vs Gosling. From the battle for Sexiest Man Alive to the race for Best Actor.
