Regé-Jean Page, a year ago, was not a household name. Nine months ago, all that changed with the release of Bridgerton on Netflix. And then he was in millions of homes, and fantasies. So it makes total sense that he’s one of GQ’s Men of the Year for 2021. He’s been one of the breakout stories, one of the biggest breakout stories.
Here’s Regé-Jean, looking fine as f-ck, at the event in London last night. Love this colour on him. Love the three quarter length jacket. And I love that he gave us some gossip to go with the style.
Because he attended the GQ Men of the Year party with his girlfriend, Emily Brown. We first heard about their relationship early in the year, when they were photographed outside her place. This, though, is their first official public outing as a couple. So the takeaway here, considering where he is in his career, is that they’re presumably quite serious.
Next question then: will she accompany him to the Emmys? Actually the Television Academy may have made that decision for them. It was announced last month that due to the surge in COVID cases in Los Angeles, the show has been scaled back and nominated teams are now limited as to how many people can attend. RJ is nominated for Lead Actor in a Drama. It may be that there won’t be enough tickets for the Bridgerton team to allow for plus ones. If, that is, he actually attends in person. I can’t imagine though, since it’s his first nomination, that he wouldn’t want to be there. Especially now that we know he’s not returning for the second season and it’ll be really his final opportunity to hang with the Bridgerton cast and crew.
The Emmys are happening on September 19. How is it already Emmy season? Does it feel like this year is flying by?
