I guess my head was really far up my ass, more so than usual, in February because I completely missed this story. I’m sorry.

Another Bridget Jones movie is actually happening. Sort of. Click here for the last time I posted about the project about a year ago. The movie is to be called Bridget Jones’s Baby (I want to die) and production was supposed to begin a few weeks ago only to be halted because the script is reportedly f-cked. So f-cked that apparently the cast including Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, and Hugh Grant - especially Hugh Grant - put their hands up and called pause. (Source) This surprised me about Hugh because I’m not actually convinced he read the script for Did You Hear About The Morgans. A couple of days after the initial report was published by The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh’s rep released the following statement:

“Hugh is keen that Bridget Jones 3 happens, but Renee [Zellweger], Colin [Firth] and he all have some issue with the present script. They are hoping to help work them out.” (Source)

That was 10 weeks ago. There have been no updates since but here’s Renee at LAX this weekend not looking at all like good old Bridge. So I’m thinking, no, not yet.

While Renee was travelling, Hugh was in New York promoting The Pirates! Band Of Misfits. It’s been a long time since he’s been on press tour for a film. He...really hasn’t worked much the last few years. Renee hasn’t worked in 3 years. Or more. Maybe they need Bridget more than she needs them.
