What Else?
I did not watch the hell that happened yesterday in Washington, DC, though I’ve read enough about it to know all the f-cksh-t that was said and done, including deplorable hand gestures. The celebrity angle here? Well, one of them is Carrie Underwood and I’m not sure why anyone was surprised that she was there. Apparently there was a tech issue with her performance – in the presence of all those tech bro billionaires, is that ironic? – and now she’s big mad about it. But Carrie, this is what happens when you align with mess… you get the mess. (Celebitchy)
Wait… how is it the back half of January already?! I don’t want to think about how quickly we are racing to our demise, so let’s think instead about how quickly we are racing to the possible demise of Ethan Hunt, and how quickly Tom Cruise is racing, always, especially in the Mission: Impossible movies. We are now just four months away from Final Reckoning which they seem to be setting up as Mission Where Ethan Finally Dies. And apparently they’ve been doing select screenings and people are having big reactions. Translation: the movie is SO EXCITING and SO THRILLING, your heart might burst. (Pajiba)
The Fug Girls are having a great time time-machining this week and this time it’s from 2014. As I said yesterday, most of the looks are really kinda… unremarkable. You know whose look holds up though? No surprise: Keri Russell. (Go Fug Yourself)
Azza Cohen was Kamala Harris’s Videographer and she is sharing her experience. It’s a Show Your Work piece x 2: Azza’s job and Madam Vice President’s job. (Slate)
An article in Teen Vogue that’s meant for young women that, for many of us here at LaineyGossip, hits close to home because it’s about Canada because there are some people who might want to move here considering what’s happening and will happen in the US. John Loeppky argues that “Canada isn’t the progressive dreamland some Americans think” it to be. John isn’t wrong. (Teen Vogue)
