I wrote earlier about Nicole Kidman’s ability to elevate a black dress. The same is true of Cate Blanchett who was also in Venice (so many Venice Queens!), in a succession of fire looks, including this black velvet dress. Cate’s currently promoting Disclaimer which is premiering in October on Apple TV+. Another prestige project on that platform even though Netflix gets so many more views. There’s a case to be made that Apple’s content is much higher quality. But, you know, Netflix is like basic cable these days. (GoFugYourself)

Reddit is asking what people couldn’t believe they had to explain to another adult and the responses are hilarious. The one about how that one person thought you could take a train to Europe from the US, seriously?! For me, the first thing that comes to mind requires me clowning on Maria, again. I’m sorry Maria. But a few months ago she wrote in one of her Celebrity Social Media columns that she had no idea what Julia Roberts’s “A Low Vera” t-shirt was all about and I was the one who had to break it to you, after all these years, that it was “aloe vera”, LOL forever. The biggest headline out of South Korea right now is disturbing and you may not want to know about it but the women of South Korea are asking you to care because they’re being targeted by gross men on Telegram with deepfakes and all kinds of other forms of digital sexual harassment. There was an effort to raise awareness about this on social media a few days ago in the hopes of drawing more attention from international media so that the government and other authorities will be inclined to actually do something about this f-ckery. You can read more about the situation here and there’s a Netflix documentary called Cyber Hell, about the previous internet sex scandal that erupted across the country in 2022. Obviously not enough was done at the time and now here we are. (The Mary Sue)

Oh misogyny, you are truly multicultural. Because on that note, that man who’s running for Vice President of the United States apparently thinks women with careers are on a “path to misery”. So I guess in his mind, if you are woman and you care about your job, you are ruining your life. This is on top of what we already know he thinks of women who don’t have kids. Double whammy for me on that front. I’m a worthless piece of sh-t. (Celebitchy)

A really insightful piece by Iman N Milner on “Dearica Hamby & The Price of Pregnancy in the WNBA”. (Refinery 29)
