Cate Blanchett was at the Venice Film Festival opening night gala premiere of La Grazia on Wednesday looking spectacular…again. Again because she re-wore a dress she wore not that long ago. She does this often, sometimes changing a few elements here and there on pieces she’s worn before or just straight up, with no adjustments, as part of her style sustainability efforts.

This is Giorgio Armani, a stunning design, with the chunky black stones v-lining down her body, a snatched waist, and the foldover around the hips to create a wraparound pocket.

And this is Cate in the same dress at the SAG Awards back in 2022. She didn’t really even change her hair that much.

You will note, she’s getting just as much coverage today as she did three years ago. Because she’s Cate Blanchett and is always a serve, of course. But that’s also the point. Since the dress is so special and she looks that great in it, it doesn’t necessarily have to be new, and the attention will still be there. Which, of course, would be a concern for pretty much any celebrity, worrying about the appearance and whether or not people will care. In Cate’s case, they certainly still do, and she’s getting her message across because the headlines about her red carpet look in Venice all make note of the sustainability effort.

So that’s how Cate is kicking off her festival. She’ll be on the red carpet again soon to promote her own film, Father Mother Sister Brother, directed by Jim Jarmusch. Wonder whether or not she’ll go back into her personal collection for that one or if it’ll be something new.
