Gwyneth Paltrow for Saint Laurent: very icy, which is a compliment. She looks great, but she isn’t someone closely associated with this brand.
Zoe Kravitz and Hailey Bieber are very YSL, whereas Gwyneth is Valentino, The Row and obviously G.Label. But it’s always good to mix it up and she is someone pretty much any brand would want as their face.
Red One made $175 million at the box office, which seems like a big number if you don’t factor in that it cost $250 million to make. So it’s not exactly a bomb but a disappointment – until it hit streaming, where it has been a hit. And It’s a Christmas movie so it gets a seasonal bump, plus has holiday rewatch power. But the poster looks like it’s from a fake movie that plays in the background of real movie.
Miranda Kerr still drinks celery juice?! Remember when stores were running out of celery in 2019 because a “medical medium” told people it was good for them? We are our own downfall.
The Yellowstone finale was a ratings monster and I watched it last night, half on my phone because it was boring as hell. The ending was predictable (which isn’t a bad thing, it has been laid out in the story) but you could drive a Yellowstone-branded Ford150 through the plot holes. In Taylor Sheridan’s world, no one has a doorbell camera or a cell phone that tracks their location.
Anyway, Sheridan prides himself on writing his own universe and not giving a f-ck what critics or studios think but I wonder if he reads fan reactions because the number one consensus is: this man can’t act for sh-t! And he gave himself so much air time in the final two episodes. Taylor started as an actor and he just can’t quit it. And we will probably see him more if these two get that spin-off.
I had no idea there was a possible sequel to The Holiday but it would definitely work – there are so many directions the plot could go in. I think one of the couples should be separated and it’s a house swap/parent trap situation with two different areas, like New York and the south of France. The houses are an integral part of the story. Sure, a lot of The Holiday was filmed on a sound stage but Nancy Meyers makes us believe in the power of a cozy nook.
