Mariah Carey doesn’t show up for just anyone (besides Santa) so choosing to work with Ariana Grande is a big deal. And it’s very sweet how blown away Ariana is.
I am neutral on Valentine’s Day and I feel like this year, maybe because of Super Bowl madness, it’s pretty low key online. But I do appreciate it as a gossip holiday. I posted this last year but I will again because it’s important. As Jake Cornell says, “We’re updating records.” This is the day to get in the group chat and say, “Hey has anyone else noticed…” and cause chaos. That former co-worker who got married at the Four Seasons in Maui and never lets anyone forget it not posting about her husband? We’re taking notes.

You know who is having the time of his life right now? Alan Cumming, who is the host of hit reality TV show The Traitors. And it’s only in its second season in the US, which means this could go on for years like Big Brother. Sweet gig. And his wardrobe on the show is actually a wardrobe! It’s fun, it’s fashion, it’s not a typical dark suit. There’s a whole NYT story about it.
So there’s been two stories that came out about Kanye West at the Super Bowl and I’m kind of calling BS on both. One is that he bought the seats below Taylor’s suite and her team “made a few calls” to ensure he didn’t sit there. The other is that he was walking around going suite-to-suite looking for free drinks. Let’s address the Taylor rumour first: he wouldn’t know which box Taylor had. No way, no how. No one outside of her team would know that, for multiple reasons not related to him. The second story also sounds fake because to get up to that VIP level where the suites are, even for a non-Super Bowl game, there are multiple check points. Those VIP suites have managers who personally guide the VIPs through. I just don’t believe that he walked up there without a ticket and was going in and out of suites. That doesn’t seem possible with such tight security and so many celebrities and billionaires.
Besides the Kanye of it all, there were multiple different factions at the Super Bowl. By now we’ve all seen the comparison between Taylor’s suite and the Kardashian suite, one was super hype and the other one was pretty quiet. Obviously there’s no crossover in those two groups but in addition to Taylor, Justin and Hailey Bieber probably had to dodge Scooter Braun, who was there for Usher’s performance. That would probably be a very awkward run-in. Interestingly, Scooter has started liking Justin’s posts again.
Cillian Murphy does something to people, like on a deep level. He’s been on a never-ending campaign for Oppenheimer, which will end at the Oscars. Then he will go very quiet because he genuinely enjoys his life outside of Hollywood. There’s no way to fake being uninterested in fame and that’s part of the reason people are so drawn to him: he doesn’t want seek out attention, even when he’s on the cover of a magazine you get the feeling that he'd prefer not being on the cover.
