There’s been all kinds of influencer drama on Instagram, like the Mormon mommy blogger who fled New York in an RV with her husband and five children, after residents had been told to stay home. Also Arielle Charnas of Something Navy, who said she tested positive for COVID-19 and then traveled and spent time with her family. Just like the celebrity ecosystem has been disrupted by social distancing, so has the influencer ecosystem, and it might never go back to “normal” (highly stylized photos of kids in precocious outfits, brightly lit and perfectly organized playrooms) again. This Vanity Fair piece, “Is This the End of Influencing as We Know It?” by Kenzie Bryant makes an excellent point: aspiration has gone out the window and “escapism” has taken on a new meaning. Bryant writes, “authenticity is colliding terribly with a lack of self-awareness.”
This brings me to influencer/reality star/lifestyle person Kristin Cavallari, who has spent three weeks on vacation with her family and hair stylist and his fiancé. The story has changed multiple times: they’ve said they don’t want to come back, then they can’t come back, then they were trying to come back. Writer Claire Downs broke down the entire saga on Twitter. (Just a side note, Kristin C. is an anti-vaxxer. Do you think this pandemic will change her mind? So far, it seems like anti-vaxxers are just digging their heels in more.) Click on the tweet below to see the full thread.

Not every celebrity is being embarrassing during this time. Matthew McConaughey popped into a virtual bingo night (he was the caller) and is doing “McConaughey Takes,” a kind of fireside chat about his movies. First up: How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. Great pick. An absolute classic rom-com that still stands up, as does her yellow dress. The movie was based on a short book of the same name written by Michele Alexander and Jeanne Long. I bring this up because Michele Alexander has a new book coming out, He’s Making You Crazy: How To Get the Guy, Get Even and Get Over It, and it’s co-written with Vanderpump Rules star Kristen Doute. Apparently there’s already interest in optioning the book – who should play Kristen? Mila Kunis is my pick.
Alright, alright, alright! Matthew McConaughey hosted a virtual bingo night for residents at a senior living facility in Texas. https://t.co/xnqUAkcdU0 pic.twitter.com/hBi8DA06ZE

I’m not sure if Sofia Richie is quarantining as a Kardashian/Jenner plus one but I do know her sister Nicole Richie has not one but two new shows out (Making the Cut and Nikki Fresh) and… crickets.
There has been a situation here for years – what is the stalemate? I feel like now would be a great time to mend the family rift.
Demi Moore has been posting from home and yesterday included Bruce Willis. Their daughter Talullah confirmed in the comments that they’ve been together for 27 days, which means that Bruce’s wife and his two younger children are there are well. It’s a full house, even for a big house. Maybe it’s two.
