Justin Hartley hopped aboard the Thirsty Express: first stop social media, where he and his new girlfriend Sofia Pernas became Insta official with matching posts (but not a cutesy couple photo). Next stop: PEOPLE Magazine, where “sources” have been planting breadcrumbs of information about the new couple since June. This is SO basic. Selling Sunset was getting so much press over the weekend and Chrishell Stause has a profile in the LA Times, so he coincidentally goes public with someone he’s been dating for three months? Even the most entry level gossip will recognize this as a diversion tactic and attempt to pull focus off of her. Many of us lived through the Spencer/Heidi/Lauren era so we are certainly not being fooled by this low-level trickery. It’s insulting how little effort he put in. He is insulting us.
Cara Delevingne posted a Happy Birthday to Margaret Qualley and Kaia Gerber commented how much she loves both of them. As we’ve talked about, Cara, Kaia, Margaret, and Ashley Benson were quarantining together when their area was in lockdown. Cara and Ashley then split and Ashley presumably left the house because she’s been with G-Eazy. There were rumours that Cara and Kaia are together in some capacity but these photos of Cara and Margaret – any tingles? Could it maybe be Cara and Margaret? Or maybe there is no couple in this mix and they are all friends? Or more than friends without relationship definitions that old people like me use? I don’t know, but Emily (our site manager) and I are obsessed. This reminds me of the Primrose Hill set – Jude Law, Sadie Frost, Kate Moss, the Gallaghers, Pearl Lowe. All of the youth, money, pedigree, and beauty is incredibly glamorous.
Succession is planning to start filming towards the end of the year in New York (source). I’m more excited than Roman when he gets a call from Gerri. But that being said, we don’t know what winter will bring. Cold and flu season mixed in with COVID, on top of a lot of stressed and worn down people, could get tricky. So that’s the plan for now but we will see.
Brooklyn Beckham is wearing a gold band and some are speculating that he and Nicola Peltz may have gotten married but I don’t think so. They are young and posted their engagement photos everywhere, including the actual moment he was on one knee. Do they sound like they’d be up for a low-key ceremony? On the flip side, they are SO into each other that maybe they absolutely couldn’t stand to wait another minute so they did the official part and will have a party when restrictions let up. (Justin and Hailey Bieber were married for months before they had a public ceremony.) Budget isn’t really a problem, so Brooklyn and Nicola might have two parties (UK and US) and maybe one destination location, too.
There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good advice column and Dear Prudie always delivers. This letter is written by a person who is terribly broken up about their son going on a playdate and being fed, gasp!, Indian food (otherwise known as: food). The boy enjoyed it and still the parent had the gall to “gently” let the hosting parents know that their precious Dudley Diddykins could have gotten a tummy ache. (Nothing of the sort happened – the kid ate it and enjoyed it.) The letter sucks but it’s Danny M. Lavery who speaks for all of us when he points out that millions of people eat curry and lentils every day and flavour is not the enemy. Seasoning is not scary. The dishes below are by Chef Anagha Godbole who is currently creating a food map of India (you can find her recipes here.)
