Sarah covered the Oscar nominations earlier today and as mentioned Emilia Pérez leads with the most. I don’t love the film either….but two things can be true: the film might not be your favourite and it’s amazing that Karla Sofía Gascón is now the first trans actress to be nominated for Best Actress. 

 

She posted a Buddhist chant to go along with the news. NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO. Angela Bassett chanted this as Tina Turner and my ma has also been chanting it for the last few decades only her pronunciation is different, sounds more like “Nam-yo-oh-ling-ye-gyo”. Maybe she’s Cantonese-ified it from Japanese. 

 

Lucy Liu was on Fallon last night… and wore the sh-t out of this black sequin slip dress. 

Remember when Aaron Pierre’s spirit tunnel turned us all into the thirstiest bitches? Well… look what Andra Day did when it was her turn. She recreated it, beat for beat! I’ll show you her video first. And then after someone posted the side-by-side on Twitter. This is impressive.

Hugh Jackman, opening night tomorrow. His show, though, has been overshadowed by his personal life lately because he and Sutton Foster hard-launched themselves to start the year. Presumably she’ll be there supporting him and… if there’s a red carpet… they’ll premiere themselves for the first time on it. I don’t know if his social media team is editing the comments but I’m not seeing a lot of pushback from his fans. Does this mean their PR strategy worked? 

 

I have really enjoyed this era of Robert Pattinson putting out social media content to promote his movie. It looked like he had a great time in Korea. First the aegyo, and now he’s eating what looks to me like tteokbokki and Bong Joon-ho messed with him by telling him he was trying it mild when it wasn’t mild. So now everyone wants to know if Robert would ever do Hot Ones. Me? I would like to give him a proper chopsticks lesson. Because the way he’s holding them is not it. 

The Gala des Pièces Jaunes is a fundraiser in Paris in support of the Hospital Foundation and has, in the past, featured some of the biggest global pop acts. This year’s lineup includes some major K-pop notables like G-Dragon, Rosé, and j-hope. 

 

I’m a Blink and ARMY, so let’s not get into any fan wars. It’s amazing enough that at Paris La Défense Arena, there are so many lightsticks, that K-pop stans are showing up, that K-pop is making this much of an impact internationally. So to keep it fair, and so nobody yells at me, here’s a visual of all the lightsticks…
