Maria is off the rest of this week and Lainey has come down with something nasty and barely had the energy to crank out the previous post, so I’m stepping in to cover the rest of what will be a pretty light day on the site.
So let’s start with one of my new favourites that isn’t Lori Harvey. How about Amiee Lou Wood and her incredibly tasty teeth!? She hasn’t posted in about a month but that’s not going to stop me from directing you to this carousel, finished off with a great shot of her smile from yesteryear vs now. For me, a lot of the appeal is also her character in this Season’s White Lotus because how can you not love how she seems to be emotional teflon to Rick’s drama while still caring so deeply for him?
Staying on the White Lotus theme, here’s one of Season 2’s jaw droppers who stole every scene she was in - Simona Tabasco, just because. She has one project called Cloud One in pre-production alongside Sophie Turner and Boyd Holbrook. I will watch!
Lainey and I have been into Paradise on Prime over the last few weeks. The story gets a little bit wobbly for me at times but that doesn’t faze Lainey who cannot get enough of Sterling K Brown and James Marsden occupying the screen at the same time in all of the flashbacks. Here’s Sterling covering Emmy Magazine.
And here’s James covering Nobleman with a carousel that should make Lainey feel a lot better in the morning.
People posted about how Dax Shephard and Kristen Bell leave Adam Scott “borderline abusive” voicemails about Severance cliffhangers. I don’t know if it’s just us, or me, but the first few episodes of the current season were so hard to piece together and I wondered if our brains had stopped working or if this show was getting so complex that we lost it somewhere along the way.
We did find our way back, and when we did, we finally discovered that if you let it run for a bit (yes, I know there’s a caption that tells you to wait before each show!) it runs an in-depth behind the scenes of that episode that also helps piece things together. It’s also critical to not skip the recap cause I’ve never seen a show that goes back so far into previous seasons in its recaps to bring you up to speed for what’s to come.
Finally, staying with shows we are currently watching or just watched, it’s Gary Oldman’s birthday in a couple of days and his wife posted a cute card as well as this clip from Colbert the other day. It’s Gary acting out a death scene after being stabbed by Stephen and the finish is perfect Jackson Lamb.
