Celebrity Social Media round-up for May 27, 2024

Cosmetic procedures have become a lot more normalized and widely available, but there’s still little discussion about quality and price. It seems there’s a whole subculture built on seeking out affordable procedures, leading to some very shady and unqualified people who are injecting, pricking, pulling and performing complex medical procedures without any oversight. It’s scary!

I had never heard of “veneer tech”. This is a “teeth falling out” nightmare. The picture below is of Dr. Sands, a legit celebrity dentist. He creates the smiles that people are trying to emulate.

A nice win for JLo on Netfix – her movie is #1 globally. Her work does well on streaming platforms and I know she’s done TV with Shades of Blue and World of Dance, but I wonder if she’s thought of combining the two and working on a series for a streamer. Meet the audience where they are.

Social media can be hellish, we know that. But there’s levels to that hell and some of the people posting on Hailey Bieber’s pregnancy posts are as far down as one can go. I’m not going to post the comments because they are truly disturbing and disgusting things to say to any human being and may be especially hurtful to people who’ve experienced pregnancy loss.

Yes they are trolls but these are not bots; they interact too personally to be automated. She can turn off her comments, but then those accounts move to other posts. These are not kids; the fandom that follows them is not made up of children or even teens. These are grown adult women. I’m honestly surprised that Instagram has not stepped in‑- it’s that bad.

In happier It Girl news, Sofia Richie’s daughter has arrived. Eloise, a very classic name.

Entertainment media often overstates celebrity friendships. Like Brad Pitt and George Clooney are not best friends, they were friendly coworkers. But these three? There’s no movie to promote a movie or Vanity Fair shoot. Just three dudes loving each other.

Five days ago the Oasis account posted a video which had everyone on high alert for a reunion announcement. Alas, it’s a Definitely Maybe 30th anniversary release. I will buy the vinyl but I’m not happy about being toyed with.
