This morning, Lainey tackled TNT in New York and this is the most invested I’ve been in this storyline because Taylor’s superpower is also her albatross – her fans. To see her play with, and defy, their orders is riveting. In a way, her fans should be grateful she isn’t in lockstep with their wishes because fan service kills art. 

 

On another note, Taylor stepped out in a Gucci print dress after Travis wore that ridiculous Gucci bucket hat. As far as I can tell, Taylor has never been the face of a fashion house. (If I’m wrong, the fans will hand me my ass.) But she hasn’t right? The brand I most associate her with is Stella McCartney, that’s her go-to. But what if this is gearing up towards a Gucci campaign? I could see it for Travis. Or maybe for them together. That would be massive for Gucci but I don’t know if there’s any need for Taylor to do it, unless it was just for fun. 

 

Speaking of the US Open, Martha Stewart taking kind of blurry fan photos of other celebrities will never get old. And of course she leads with Jon Hamm! 

Did you know Michael B. Jordan has a line of sea moss water? There’s no way you knew that. I think I’d try it. 

 

Jon Bernthal won a Creative Arts Emmy for best guest actor on The Bear, so Jesse Tyler Ferguson posted a throwback to a pilot they worked on. The “famous co-stars before they got famous” is an important Instagram subgenre. Jon and Jamie Lee Curtis both won for “Fishes,” an excellent standalone episode. Made the entire season worth it. Bob Odenkirk, who was also great in it, was also nominated – his sparring with Jon was top-tier. But I will never accept it being in the comedy category. 

 

It’s “Leo season” and by Leo season I mean Leonardo DiCaprio season. Yup, it’s New York Fashion Week. After years of being kind of dusty, NYFW is hot again. Hot enough to get Rihanna there. And yes, we all saw the video. And everyone has their own interpretation – a true gossip buffet moment!

Lainey wrote about JLo at TIFF and I agree, it wasn’t a knockout in terms of glow. But this woman is crushed and still showing up, so in that way it IS a knockout. 

 

Lainey mentioned the comments, which brings me to a tweet I saw (that I’m NOT reposting) about JLo and ARod getting back together, using old photos as proof. The tweet said this was a good thing as she keeps her “numbers low” which, fucking EWWWWWWW. How is JLo being slut shamed now? Even married women can be slut shamed! That just goes to show it’s not really about the number, is it? And about JLo and Arod— if this is the gossip people are following then what I said last week stands: open up the schools!
