Chappell Roan got into with photographers, filming them as they were filming her. Nothing crazy and Chappell is one person in a long line, from Sean Penn throwing punches Jennifer Aniston wearing the same outfit to devalue the photos to Emma Stone carrying a sign saying she was being harassed to Leonardo DiCaprio jumping behind a dumpster. Ironically, these interactions are memorable because the celebrities in question were trying to avoid attention.

This is the Streisand Effect of this behaviour – if Chappell hadn’t engaged, these would be another set of pap photos in a long list. But does she need to always grin and bear it? Being frustrated is understandable and she was doing to them exactly what they were doing to her, it’s not like she was chasing them. If they didn’t want to be filmed, they could have turned around and walked the other way. She doesn’t really have that option because the more she runs, the more they will chase her.

Katy Perry’s latest photo dump includes two photos of Justin Trudeau, so that is still happening and frankly I’m delighted. This is good fun gossip! But I want to talk about her first photo, at the dentist. I’ve always wondered how much time celebrities spend at the dentist. A lot of them (not specific to Katy) get so much work done on their mouths between the caps and the teeth whitening and the retainers. And a dentist is not like a hair stylist or a personal trainer who can go to their house – they must to do in-office appointments. It must be hours and hours in the chair.

The Onion has weighed in on Balletgate.

The Bride! reviews are joyously terrible. People are enjoying talking about how bad it is, which is its own form of entertainment. It’s like Cats all over again.

We’ve talked about how golf had an uptick with Happy Gilmore and Owen Wilson’s Sticks, all while the 2025 Ryder Cup broke contagion because there was so much drama. Will Ferrell’s new Netflix show The Hawk has its first look. F1 has an Oscar-nominated film and a popular series, football has had several films and more recently, Chad Powers. Professional hockey has Heated Rivalry, even though hockey does not deserve it. I’d be interested in a fictional baseball series. Netflix did The Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox, which was entertaining.

Meghan Sussex is doing a speaking engagement for Her Best Life in Australia. Harry has done these as well and it’s common for former politicians to book these types of appearances as well. They are super high-profile, so I have no idea how Her Best Life is able to afford Meghan’s rate.
