The Palm Royale season two finale event was a tribute to Carol Burnett and there were some surprise dignitary and celebrity appearances in her honour.

Michelle Obama sent a video message, Bernadette Peters, Rhea Seehorn, and Vince Gilligan were there. And Charlize Theron was in the audience too, at one point hilariously taking the mic and calling out Carol for cheating at Wordle. Calling out is putting it mildly. Charlize, as we know and love, has a foul mouth, and she basically – and lovingly – cussed Carol out.

It takes finesse to be able to be your filthy self while also affectionately cursing at a living legend. Charlize pulled it off, no problem. Carol clearly enjoyed it, the crowd enjoyed it, everybody wins. And it also adds to Charlize’s badass bitch image. She’s never been warm and fuzzy but she is cool as f-ck, sexy as f-ck, hot at f-ck. And stylish as f-ck. This outfit!

The t-shirt is obviously Givenchy and the perfect cut. Why aren’t all t-shirts cut like this? Why do they have to be so fitted, especially at the hips. The t-shirt template is so archaic, it makes me crazy. So let’s talk about the pants instead. I am obsessed with pants right now.

I told our ETALK stylist, Simone, when we kicked off the year last week that all I want is pants for January and February because I am not in the mood for dresses right and also because trousers are SO good right now, at all price points.

Charlize’s trousers are Stella McCartney – the Slouchy Panelled Pinstripe is on sale right now but very limited on sizes. But that’s not a concern because there are so many good dupes, and I’ve tried on a LOT of them.

Like the Anine Bing Lou Trouser, the pleats lie beautifully on this pair of pants, and it comes in several colourways, including black pinstripe and they’re marked down, with lots of sizing.

Reformation’s Alex Mid Rise Pant is pretty close to Charlize’s but much better priced and the way they fall past the ankle is gorgeous.

I tried on the Carhartt Work in Progress trousers and loved them, they looked great over sneakers and boots.

And I really liked Banana Republic Everyday Wide Leg Flannel pant when I tried on the pinstripe but we actually ended up going with the warm plaid in this trouser instead because…

The Massimo Dutti Pinstripe Wide Leg Trouser worked better for the look we were putting together. The slouch on these is outstanding.

But let me put you on of the best pairs of pants out there right now. I started wearing these pants at the end of the summer, when they put out an early version, even though they were a heavier fabric because I f-cking love this cut.

It’s the ZW Collection Wide Leg and it’s the way the pleats are positioned farther out. These have been my go-to pants for the last six months, I would wear them every day if I could.

Zara now has them in a pinstripe and now I have another pair that I can alternate with the originals. You know how much I love these pants? We don’t get commissions from Zara, theirs is zero benefit to me telling you about them, they’re just that good.

And on that note, the above links are affiliate links so please shop and support if you crave some pants.
