You do these things, these wonderful things, these wonderful words, and it’s like you’re making a case to be taken OFF the Freebie Five and slotted instead on the Lifetime List. Because, really, more and more, I feel like one night wouldn’t be enough. How could one night be enough?

Thank you for writing this beautiful letter in support of gay rights and in opposition to homophobic bullying. Your brother is gay. You attended his marriage celebration recently. And your words about understanding, respect, and love are heartfelt and poignant and TRUE. Kids are taught to hate. Because some people are f-cked. Did you hear about what happened at that school? Over the prom? And then they excluded her from the “secret straight kids prom”? With the encouragement of their parents? Kids can be mean but these kids have parents supporting their mean. I hate people. Do you hate people? Probably not. You don’t seem as petty as I am. Or at all.

Very much admire your endorsement of this campaign. And very much admire your advocacy.

Did I mention you looked so great at the Oscars?
