Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams have both confirmed their next projects after the smash hit success of Heated Rivalry season one – and in the same week.

Connor’s announcement was first, he’s joined the cast of the upcoming A24 comedy, Peaked, about two mean girls at their high school ten year reunion. Molly Gordon is directing and starring. Emma Mackey is the co-lead and the movie also includes Laura Dern, Simone Ashley, Levon Hawke, Mitra Jouhari, and Gabby Windey. According to Deadline, production will begin this month. This is great for Connor, to step right into a comedy, and I’m sure I don’t have to tell you about A24 and its reputation.

As for Hudson, Crave announced yesterday that he’s going back-to-back with them – first HR and now Yaga.

I’ve written a lot about what the success of Heated Rivalry means for the Canadian creative class. Yaga is another Canadian production, which means more opportunities for local crews and other industry professions. It’s amazing that even though Hudson has gone worldwide, he’s chosen a project close to home.

For both Hudson and Connor though, their respective next projects are smart and strategic. Peaked and Yaga are ensemble projects, the kind of projects they each likely, presumably, would have loved to be a part of before Heated Rivalry. Which is great, because becoming overnight superstars shouldn’t change the kinds of stories and opportunities they want to be a part of. But also, it takes the pressure off too. Hudson and Connor are already guaranteed leading roles in season two (and probably season three) of Heated Rivalry – and all the hype that will come with it.

With that established, it’s a good move to stretch, showcase their abilities in different styles of storytelling: comedic for Connor and drama thriller for Hudson. While also making money in other formats. Hudson this week was announced as the star of Balenciaga’s new campaign. The agents are busy!
