I mentioned the Chanel event in New York earlier in my Blake Lively post and you know who else was there? Oh just the coolest couple in Hollywood, Celine Song and Justin Kuritzkes. Celine of course wrote and directed Past Lives, and is currently promoting her follow-up, which she also wrote and directed, Materialists, starring Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, and Chris Evans.

Justin Kuritzkes may not be a household name but I guarantee you know his work. Because he wrote Challengers, starring Zendaya, and also adapted Queer, starring Daniel Craig, both directed by Luca Guadagnino. He’s about to collaborate again with Luca on Sgt Rock, with Colin Farrell apparently interested in the lead role. Justin has another film in development with Austin Butler attached called City on Fire.

So between the two of them, it’s a power couple, only they’re too f-cking cool to be called a power couple because sh-t like that probably doesn’t matter to them. But, seriously, this is literally the Challengers-Past Lives-Materialists-Queer universe! It definitely matters to us, right?!

I have more to say about Celine because I’m obsessed with her but I’ll save it for later this week as we get closer to the release of Materialists.

What else happened today…

I love Rachael Leigh Cook because I will always and forever love She’s All That even though it’s problematic by today’s standards – but the Winona Ryder-Rachael Leigh Cook connection will always be real for me, between Reality Bites and She’s All That and both their characters are called “Lainey”! Anyway, if you’re wondering what Rachael is up to now. (Pajiba)

I almost didn’t recognise my dream girl Julia Fox because her outfit here is so normal. (Go Fug Yourself)

If you’re nostalgic for celebrity gossip from the 2000s, this might be the memoir to read this summer. (The Ringer)

Olivia Rodrigo x David Byrne, a multigenerational collab on stage. (Celebitchy)

Scooter Braun keeps talking about Taylor Swift and trying to explain his side of what happened with Taylor Swift and the more he explains, the more it just makes her seem right?! (The Cut)
