(Most of) The Beckhams celebrate Victoria
The Victoria Beckham docuseries dropped on Netflix today. I wrote about its significance in pop culture on The Squawk yesterday. You can read it here. I will be watching as soon as I can, hopefully tonight but if not then for sure the whole thing tomorrow since the Jays won’t be retaking over our lives until Sunday.
The premiere happened last night in London and Victoria was joined by David, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper Seven. When and how did Romeo get so tall?!

The Beckhams, though, as we know, have four children. Their first child has not been seen with the family all year and that streak continues as Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz did not attend in support of his mother, which obviously means that whatever drama is happening between them has not yet been resolved. Victoria did reportedly shout him out during her remarks when she thanked her loved ones. Per Page Six:
“My children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Harper — and David — oh my God, he’s not a child!” she playfully said, before adding, “I was doing so well without [prompt] cards as well!”
It’s a story that she mentioned him, it would have been a bigger story had she not mentioned him. I’m not sure this is much of an update on the situation but I would imagine that, as a mother, she’d be looking for any opportunity to reconcile.
During her speech, Victoria also talked about how she came to do the docuseries in the first place. It was at David’s urging. She shouted him out for "convincing me and then forcing me, giving me no choice” and in return, for her, it was an “emotional experience” that essentially amounted to “a year’s intense therapy”. Because, as she said, she’s not the kind of person who looks back, and she initially had no desire to revisit her memories, her beginnings. Probably because she had so many insecurities and struggled for a long time to find herself. Now that she’s had the opportunity to deep dive on her own past, she’s come out of it with a better appreciation of self:
"You know, it's taken me this process to really be proud of what I've achieved and to realize finally that I am enough."
Look how charming she is in this promo – she’s always been enough, it was everyone else who had to catch up.
All eyes on her.

Now can we talk about how much Harper Seven looks like her mother?! This photo below, taken from this precise angle, really brings it home. The shape of their faces, their eyes, the nose, their half smiles! The Beckham sons are more their dad. But the Beckham daughter is totally her mom.
