Manuel Arnaut is head of editorial content at Vogue Arabia and posted this callout about a brand delaying a start time for a celebrity. He could be referring to Rihanna arriving late to the Matières Fécales show. That’s a choice the designer and production team made, to wait.

Some designers (like Marc Jacobs and Giorgio Armani) were known to start on time, even if VIP guests were not in their seats. I understand Arnaut’s point because editors and buyers are working at fashion week, they need to get to multiple shows and showroom appointments. But the fashion world is a hierarchy, like it or not, and some people’s time is viewed as more valuable than others. And Rihanna is one of the most sought-after attendees; they probably would have waited longer if they needed to.

Author Curtis Sittenfeld has her go at the divorce essay, annotating an essay she wrote about her marriage back in 2015. I enjoy her voice and the end of a marriage can produce cathartic work – Nora Ephron’s Heartburn, Terry McMillan’s Waiting To Exhale. Sittenfeld has optioned a few of her books to different production companies, including Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, but so far none have made it to production. I really wonder why, considering how all-in studios seem to be on book adaptions like Big Little Lies.

OK you know what’s interesting about Rebel Wilson? She is in the midst of a lawsuit very similar to the one against Justin Baldoni/Wayfarer. It involves the production team behind The Deb, who allege that Rebel orchestrated a smear campaign with the help of publicist Melissa Nathan and Wilson has countersued, alleging embezzlement and bullying.  Obviously, this doesn’t have the explosiveness of the It Ends With Us lawsuits, which is why it isn’t getting the same kind of media attention, but the elements are quite similar.
