In case you missed it, but how could you?!, Love Island USA Season 6 has been one of the surprise hits of the summer. The ratings were huge for Peacock. The social media activity may have been even bigger – and it’s made several of the cast members very, very famous. In particular the three girls known as PPG (Powerpuff Girls), JaNa Craig, Serena Paige, and Leah Kateb who are pretty much swarmed wherever they go. I’m actually a little surprised NBC didn’t find a way to get them to the Olympics because that’s how popular they are.

The season ended a few weeks ago but that hasn’t dimmed the interest in how the Islanders are doing now that they’re out of the villa….because the drama continues! Everyone is convinced that Nicole has ghosted Kendall after his video leak. Kaylor confirmed that she’s now watched all the episodes, especially what she missed when Aaron was at Casa Amor and posted this on TikTok a few days ago:

And there’s all the sh-t talking that’s been happening by any and all cast members on socials or on podcasts, which means there are scores to settle. And the timing is perfect because last night they taped the reunion special in New York and it was wild how many people were there – like a Hollywood premiere, only these people aren’t actors, they’ve only been famous for five minutes. And maybe it won’t last ten minutes but that crowd yesterday was more excited to see them than they would have been to see proper big time actors.

One of the differences, of course, between these stars and most conventional actors, is that they’re all about fan service – and the service here that the fans are demanding is mess! These are very online people who know what people are saying and speculating online, PPG especially. So they’re coming in hot, serving looks, and ready to get messy. Callouts, finger pointing, telling Rob about himself (hopefully), all of that is on the menu, I can’t f-cking wait. Love Island has been one of the joys of my summer, it literally took the Olympics to break me out of my withdrawal. And now it’s back for one night only to help me with my post-Olympics recovery.
