Kpop Demon Hunters was not eligible for the BAFTAs because something something technicality over how many theatrical showings the film had in the UK. Netflix tried to appeal unsuccessfully… but BAFTA still invited EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami to the show to perform “Golden” because they needed the clout and since Huntr/x is campaigning for Oscars, they agreed because that’s the ultimate prize. Curious to see what they actually have planned for the Oscars and how much bigger of a spectacle it will be, as the girls weren’t trying to do too much over in England, and I don’t blame them. Save the big finish for the big show.

Let’s talk about the fashion because I am obsessed with the way they dress to their own personalities but also keep it coordinated. As you can see, there’s a colour theme with their stage looks but each individual outfit is uniquely suited for each artist. Also note – I just posted about slip dresses and EJAE is wearing one.

For me, though, it’s always Audrey Nuna. Everything she wears is high concept, original, and also Korean. The fabric on that coat is evocative of both traditional Korean patterns and the shape of a hanbok. Speaking of shape…

I LOVE that she’s become a Thom Browne favourite and the Thom Browne look she wore for the red carpet is basically every single one of my fashion fantasies come true. But I suspect she’s drawn to it because it too has similarities with traditional Korean dress the way the jacket sits over the voluminous skirt. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with for the Oscars.

What else happened today…

Audrey, in addition to Thom Browne, is also known to wear a lot of Simone Rocha. I f-cking love Simone Rocha, this is one of my favourite brands. And there’s now a Simone Rocha x Adidas collaboration. GIMME! (Marie Claire)

Chloe Zhao was in gold at the BAFTAs and I really, really, really love the skirt, it’s the top that’s not working for me. And I agree with the FUG Girls about the shoes. (Go Fug Yourself)

Staying with the gold… Alysa Liu is a gold medalist, the Olympic champion, and now she’s sharing her skincare routine. I can confirm that the Asian haircare products are amazing. She can’t remember the name of hers, mine are Ryo. (The Cut)

Kayleigh Donaldson is asking a Very Important Question: “Does Glen Powell need a career redo?” (Pajiba)

Cardi B was very taken with Vancouver the other day – and she’s there in February, imagine what would have happened if she visited in May. She’s also charming many other Canadians with her coffee and donuts search. (Now Toronto)
