Dear Gossips,

The Council of Fashion Designers of America awards (CFDAs) happened last night which means looks were served. The guest list included style regulars and first-timers, like EJAE, who is having the biggest year of her career with the success of Kpop Demon Hunters. And of course she has a lot to do with it, considering she co-wrote the biggest hit off the soundtrack, “Golden”, the song that after 19 weeks is still #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

EJAE was at the CFDAs with Zac Posen in custom Gap Studio, a halter dress that looks like it’s made out of shredded denim, with her hair done in traditional East Asian looping braids. She looks SO good.

Zac, by the way, is one of the main reasons why Gap has made a comeback. If you hadn’t already picked up on it in my fashion recommendation posts (which almost always include Gap items because I shop there so much now), their inventory over the last year or so has been outstanding, and obviously at a much more reasonable price point, comparatively. They were smart to partner with KATSEYE in the summer for their back to school campaign. And now with Zac designing for EJAE at the CFDAs, this is another K-pop collaboration for the brand.

As for EJAE, she was at the Academy Museum Gala a couple of weeks ago, doing non-stop media appearances, and now she’s becoming a fashion darling ahead of the Grammy nominations on Friday with “Golden” expected to contend in two of the four major categories. Also it was just announced that she, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami will perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. So more big moments are ahead for an artist who is breaking through in the best way.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
