I am having a very, very hard time processing this so I can’t even imagine how the Latin community must be feeling… NOOOOOOOOOO!

 

PEOPLE had the exclusive this morning and it basically ruined everyone’s day with sources saying that “despite the love and respect the singers have for one another, they have both agreed to end their engagement”. 

It was only back in March when they announced that they were getting married in the video for their song “BESO” off their joint EP. And then a month later, I posted about them being the answer ahead of Coachella – the feel-good answer to Bad Bunny and Kendall Jenner and also Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. So this tweet basically sums up my reaction: 

 

Rosalìa and Rauw were together for three years, adorably. They are, or were, best friends, collaborators, and then lovers. They’re also young…but not that young? Both 30, which is young enough but old enough, and yet, you know, there’s the whole fame thing. Fame years are like dog years – one year of being famous can age you seven years with all the mess and the drama and the expectation and how it just completely transforms your life. 

And so, another famous relationship between two wildly famous stars has ended. The speculation on TikTok has already started. People are saying their social media activity, at least in terms of interaction with each other, has been really quiet. And …because it’s TikTok…the rumours will be getting louder. 

 

For now, though, can we just look back on this and stay here for a minute?
