FKA twigs has gone full sci-fi. (Go Fug Yourself)

Sylvia Banderas Coffinet writes about her experience growing up undocumented and the importance of preserving birthright citizenship. The moment we start debating people’s humanity is the moment we’ve lost. (Popsugar)

Speaking of America and immigrants, Sebastian Stan is in an immigrant, having come to America with his mother when he was around 12 or 13. He was in Romania when he received his first Oscar nomination, and he said, “I guess this is what they mean by the American dream.” The American dream works for some people more than it does others. Stan deserves that nomination, I’m not here to rain on his parade, but having just read Sylvia Banderas Coffinet’s story of the anxiety she grew up with regarding deportation and immigration status, it’s hard not to think about how no one is talking about deporting Sebastian Stan, or people who look like him. This came up in The Squawk chat, shout out Squawkers! The Michael Jackson biopic is in chaos because they shot the movie and are in post-production and no one realized they’re prohibited from representing the Chandler family on film. Jordan Chandler was the first person to sue Michael Jackson, ultimately settling for $23 million. Part of the settlement agreement states that Jackson and/or his estate cannot depict Jordan or his family, so the filmmakers have to scrap and reshoot the entire third act of the film, which was expected to come out in April. Yikes. (Pajiba)

Pamela Anderson has an amazing profile in Elle conducted by Martha Stewart. Is it super revealing and insightful? No, but it IS super fun. These two seem to get a kick out of each other, and I love that Pamela is unconcerned about tending to her sourdough starter while she’s away, which is the appropriate level of investment to have in bacteria. Also, she named her starter “Astrid Viking Warrior Princess”, which is the kind of name a four-year-old gives a cat. I love it.

I’m sad Pamela didn’t get an Oscar nomination, because that would have capped off a fairytale comeback, but I sure hope she keeps getting opportunities to shine. (Elle)
