FKA Twigs, making some interesting shoe choices. (Go Fug Yourself)

I read this philosophical essay once that life is so inherently chaotic and random and overwhelming that humans look for meaning in coincidence in order to give order and importance to the events in our lives. Like saying “what a small world!” when you meet someone who has a connection to a third party you both know. The philosopher, whose name I cannot remember, argued that there is no structure, only pure coincidence, but it’s deeply ingrained in humans to seek importance by inventing connections like this, rather than just accepting the random nature of existence.

Anyway, here’s an explainer on the “invisible string theory” in which people find connections to their loved ones out of coincidence. (Popsugar)

Angelina Jolie is the new face for Tom Ford Beauty’s lipstick line. Holy sh-t that face. That face never stops giving. (Sadly, the makeup isn’t for me, because it’s not cruelty free. A little poem.) (Celebitchy)

Jeanette White asking the important questions: how did Eli Roth go from directing a great movie like Thanksgiving (a perfect slasher, arguably Roth’s best work, with a fantastic Patrick Dempsey performance), to a piece of sh-t like Borderlands? Maybe it’s because horror is Roth’s bailiwick and Borderlands isn’t horror. There’s nothing wrong with knowing and staying in your lane. (The Mary Sue)

But what WILL Chick-fil-A put on their (probably doomed) streaming service? Food Time Treasure sounds like something that will actually happen, sooner rather than later. (Eater)
