As Lainey noted last week, the All’s Fair cast is not f-cking playing with their press appearances. Outstanding from head-to-toe, for every cast member, at every photo call. For a Hulu series, this has a Barbie or Wicked fashion budget. Snatched all the way around. And while I don’t follow Kim Kardashian closely, she is working her fame in just the right way with this. She’s not shying away from the fact that she is a draw but also leaning in on the ensemble (which, working on a family series for years, she has experience in).
I try not to get too into the Kardashian headline cycle because it’s constantly churning, but I did want to highlight that PEOPLE covered Kim and Naomi Watts having a conversation about Kim’s salad. Naomi is absolutely correct: a Caesar salad without dressing is NOTHING. Dressing is the entire point of this salad. And I’m prepared to say a Caesar salad without anchovies is weak.
Lily Allen’s new album West End Girl is lighting up online and the UK tabloids never fail to sweep in and exploit a situation. The Daily Mail has tracked down “Madeline” and interviewed her (cough, paid her, cough). I’ll save you a click and link to NME instead. She gives nothing. Whatever they paid her, it was too much. This is her raising her hand to say “it was me” and that’s about it. So why out herself? She said it’s a scary time for her, even though she is not famous, not in LA, not part of the celebrity ecosystem. It’s not like there’s a fandom trying to track her down, Lily is not that kind of pop star.
The other possibility is that a tabloid was going to out her so she figured she would get paid for it. But nothing about her or the situation is unique – he was still on Tinder while he was married. Actors cheat on set all the time, people cheat all the time. There’s nothing special about her story or his (he is an absolute cliché). The only unique part of this breakup is Lily’s album. And that must kill his ego.
Toto and Peppe are amazing sheep names. Do you think they like the car?
Michelle Williams can hear the chip bags but it does make me wonder – why do theatres sell loud snacks? I think popcorn would be quieter than a bag of chips. Or donuts. More theaters should sell donuts.
Who watched Nobody Wants This this weekend? The sophomore slump is real. Oof. The chemistry completely disappeared.
