Holy sh-t everyone! We are now just 10 days away! The finale episodes of Game of Thrones will begin airing next Sunday on HBO and on Crave in Canada. We’ve been waiting for a long time for this. And then, as soon as it starts, we’ll want time to slow down. Because after six weeks, it’ll be over, that’s it, no more.

Last night was the last red carpet, the final premiere, which brought out those who remain and many who have fallen. We are separating the GoT event into several posts. For this one, let’s focus on a few of the most prominent main characters, starting with Jon Snow/Kit Harington who was joined by Ygritte/Rose Leslie in a f-cking spectacular red one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta dress, for their first GoT carpet since their marriage. Jon, as you know, is now in love with Daenerys. Jon, as you know, doesn’t know that he’s banging his aunt, the woman who’s grown some dragons but has also, steadily, been growing the vengeful, destructive urge that is characteristic of her House. How will this end? Are Jon and Dany the show’s OTP? Or… has his true love already died in his arms?

And it’s not like incest is their only problem (which is a bonkers thing to say because, like, incest is a pretty monumental f-cking problem). This is also a problem:

They’re not cutting to Tyrion with murder in his eyes while Jon and Daenerys are incesting each other for no reason. This alliance is fragile – and I’m not sure Tyrion’s loyalty can withstand the jealousy.

Anyway, not really feeling Emilia Clarke’s look last night. Hair and makeup? Into it. It’s the dress that’s kind of underwhelming although maybe we can take something away from that, like foreshadowing. Because the hair and makeup is fire and heat – dragons, Targaryen. The dress is ice and cool – Stark…or Night?

Speaking of Starks, the sisters, Sansa and Arya, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, were adorable last night. Look at this hug!

They were hugging all night. Sophie confirmed on the carpet that Maisie will be her maid of honour, one of two, when she marries Joe Jonas. Weddings are obviously not top of mind for either of the Stark sisters right now considering they’re in a fight to save the human race (and Sansa never consummated her marriage to Tyrion so…?!) but the perfect ending for me would be if Sansa ends up on the Iron Throne with Arya as her hand. They finally started trusting each other when we left off. And in the history of this show, we’ve seen so few women trusting each other, women who are equals (Daenerys and Missandei are not equals). If everyone else dies and Sansa and Arya are the enduring love story of Game of Thrones, I wouldn’t be mad, would you?
