Almost everyone was in LA this weekend for the Oscars, even if they had nothing to do with the Oscars. It’s a working weekend for some – they’re networking, they’re setting up meetings, they’re there for the gossip, and they’re there to be seen. After all, being seen, for most of them, is part of the work, the work of being a celebrity…especially in these times. Being famous, in and of itself, is a job. That’s why, as I mentioned in today’s site open, they’re willing to queue for half an hour to get their photos taken on the blue carpet at the Vanity Fair party.
I don’t know how long Gigi Hadid had to wait, or if she waited at all, depending on what time she arrived at Vanity Fair, but she was there, in a red Zac Posen dress, repping the model contingent on the Oscar party circuit. That also includes party regulars Emily Ratajkowski, Lily Aldridge, and Hailey Bieber, who posed on the carpet but without Justin – and here’s an interesting note where Hollywood hierarchy is concerned, because there are those who aren’t actually interested in being seen on the carpet and skip the line entirely, which is what JB did, although he did allow himself to be photographed by Vanity Fair’s in-house photographer inside, wrapped in a blanket.
Among the stars, JB was one of the biggest as THR informally polled celebrities at the event who the most “important” person at the event was and most people answered “Justin Bieber”.
Back to Gigi though – she was at several parties over the weekend, and on Friday night, at one of the pre-Oscar events, she was seen with Leonardo DiCaprio. Two weeks ago in Milan they had dinner with a group of friends resulting in speculation that whatever it was they were doing together last fall, which ended after a couple months but now it’s kicking back up again.
“An insider tells PEOPLE that the two were spotted together at Darren Dzienciol and Richie Akiva's pre-Oscars party on Friday.
"Leo and Gigi were tucked away in a tented area trying to stay low key. There was no PDA, but they were together nearly the entire night and barely moved from their spot," the source says.
However, a separate source told PEOPLE: "The two were in a group of over a dozen people in the VIP section who were hanging out."
That was Friday. On Sunday they both ended up at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Gold Party which is so many of the celebrities at their level were at so I don’t know that it necessarily means SOMETHING but the point is, they’re circling each other and…well… does Gigi know that Michael B Jordan is single now? Because I would like us to put our energy into Gossip Genie-ing for that.
