After a report in OK! Magazine that Katie Holmes is working with Giorgio Armani on a clothing line, Us Weekly took it straight to her people who denied OK!’s claims. Are you loving how these two are going bitch to bitch?

Still… there is an upcoming Armani/Katie angle. The designer is the honourary co-chair at the Costume Institute Gala on May 5th along with George Clooney and Julia Roberts. The theme...

“Superheroes – Fashion and Fantasy”.

As you know, Clooney was once a Batman. And Katie once starred in a Batman.

It is customary for high profile designers attending the event to be accompanied by their muses, models, and in recent years, their favourite celebrity clients. Last year Scarjo was Stella’s date, Lucy Liu arrived on the arm of Zac Posen, Cavalli came with Jessica Simpson (that was the best ever), and Valentino picked Taupe.

This year, my sources tell me exclusively that Mr Armani has requested that Katie Holmes join him on the carpet wearing his design. Xenu only knows if Tom will approve. But the Costume Institute Gala is the most glamourous night of the year… perhaps even more so than the Oscars. Because EVERYONE shows up. I mean everyone.

Lara and I were lucky enough to be assigned to it last May for eTalk. The tip sheet was the longest we’d ever seen. Click here for the full Costume Institute Gala wrap-up from 2007.

As for Victoria Beckham – am told she feels she belongs there too. Supposedly with Marc Jacobs. Keep you posted.
