Gisele Bundchen does sad sack Tom Brady a solid with pregnancy announcement

PEOPLE had the exclusive yesterday - Gisele Bundchen and Jiu-Jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente are expecting a baby. Gisele and Joaquim started getting spotted together following her split from Tom Brady in 2022 and they’ve been inseparable ever since, although Gisele told PEOPLE earlier this year that their relationship did not become romantic until the summer of 2023. Ordinarily, if this was a different celebrity, perhaps we’d be more intrigued by the timeline. In this case, nobody f-cking cares about the timeline because, well, nobody’s sitting around with any stored up sympathy for Tom Brady, except maybe Ben Affleck. And he’s nobody’s favourite these days anyway.

In the fall of 2022, Tom and Gisele’s breakup was big news, the perfect intersection of pop culture streams. They were a sport + fashion supercouple, the winningest of couples, and what made their divorce so interesting, as we covered here at LaineyGossip was that the usual pro-dude narrative did not take over our timelines. Sure, there were some loser bros out there trying to paint Gisele as a nagging bitch trying to get in the way of football but most of the discourse favoured Gisele because it was so undeniably obvious that she had supported him for so long through his career; and it was understandable that she’d be frustrated by his retirement and unretirement, considering that, as a family, they would have had so many discussions about moving into a new phase of their lives together.

That summer, in 2022, Tom missed eleven days of practice in the pre-season, and then, a couple of weeks later, rumours started circulating that things had gone to sh-t between him and his then-wife. In real time it looked like Tom was … scrambling, to borrow a football expression …while Gisele seemed like she was driving the situation. Exactly two years ago tomorrow I wrote this post about the media leaks surrounding their split that led up to their one-and-done divorce. They filed and got sign-off on the same day and all the money and custody matters were handled too. It was efficient, a clean break. And it was Gisele who had hired divorce lawyers first. My theory then was that she had put him on his back foot, sensing that public sentiment was in her favour. She wanted out, she got out fast.

And four months later, I wrote another post called The Gisele Bundchen School of Goodbye, essentially the ultimate supermodel lick back, because Gisele was working again, flirting with a hot martial artist, not even a hint of regret. The way I described it was, “Basically Gisele has flipped her hair, without even looking over her shoulder, not stomping away but sashaying away.”

And leaving comments like this on Tom’s IG when he announced his retirement (again):

Now, two years later, Tom is still flirting with un-retirement (again) and is courting controversy (again) in the broadcast booth because his ownership stake in the Raiders is a conflict of interest. This week he was criticised again for a word he used to describe Josh Allen during the Bills and Seahawks game. So Gisele actually did him a SOLID yesterday when she let PEOPLE announce her pregnancy, LOL FOREVER.

Meanwhile Tom is playing the part of sad sack, posting cryptically on IG stories yesterday a view of the sunset with “Landslide”, The Chicks version, as the musical accompaniment.
