Intro for October 31, 2025
Dear Gossips,
We’re approaching the end of the year, which means it’s time for all the year-end lists and celebrations to start rolling out. Last night, Glamour celebrated their Women of the Year for 2025, a list that includes Rachel Zegler, Demi Moore, Tyla, players of the WBNA, and children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel.
Ms. Rachel, who has taken up Mr. Rogers’s role as a host for kids who promotes healthy socio-emotional learning and silly songs, became expectedly controversial when she threw her full-throated support behind the Palestinian children caught in the literal crossfire of the ongoing war in Gaza. I know this is a divisive topic, but truly one of the most soul-crushing realizations I’ve had in recent years is that we can’t even agree on protecting children. War, abuse, poverty, healthcare—whatever the hot button issue of the day, I would always think, “Well, at least we can agree on protecting kids.” Turns out, we can’t!
But Ms. Rachel, real name Rachel Griffin-Accurso, really IS taking Mr. Rogers’ example to heart, because after September 11th, Mr. Rogers came out of retirement to share a message of support for children, saying, “…I’m so grateful to you for helping the children in your life to know that you’ll do everything you can to keep them safe.”
Sometimes these year-end fetes can feel a little silly, but there is a thread of survival in this year’s Glamour Women of the Year recipients. Ms. Rachel is the most obvious one, weathering a storm of controversy for standing by her beliefs even when it made her life harder, but Rachel Zegler also weathered her own controversies this year, and Demi Moore enjoyed a major comeback culminating in an Oscar nomination earlier this year. In one way or another, these women went through the wringer and came out stronger for it.
Here are Tyla and Rachel Zegler at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London last night. Demi Moore, meanwhile, was at the premiere of Landman season two. I assume she couldn’t get out of that.
Live long and gossip,
Sarah
