Dear Gossips,
We are exactly five weeks away from the release of The Bear season four. To kick off the countdown, they dropped the first trailer yesterday and there are some choices made here – the biggest one being that Jamie Lee Curtis is shown in the preview.
Not that it would be a surprise for her to return but they’re making it as obvious as possible that Donna is around and will finally come face-to-face with Carmy after their estrangement. Probably at a wedding. Oh, what could go wrong? Also, who’s getting married? Would they seriously all show up at Tiffany’s wedding? I kinda hope so, if only to get another scene with Josh Hartnett.
You know who doesn’t show up? Maybe it was too quick of a flash but I didn’t see Claire, aka Claire Bear, which, since I’m a f-cking idiot, I just realised…Carmy’s nickname and her nickname are the same. Does that mean anything?
Here’s what I wish didn’t show up: that f-cking countdown clock right off the top of the trailer. This show is already so goddamn stressful, they constantly have their backs against the wall, and these people only know chaos. But “every second counts” – yes, chef, we get it already! F-ck! Fak!
What I do enjoy seeing though is time used well, and it appears that the staff at Ever coming into The Bear to show them how to unf-ck themselves from their mess. Because Ever directly relates to the one of the best episodes this series has produced: season two, episode seven, “Forks”. It’s the ultimate Show Your Work of a fine dining establishment, total f-cking work porn. If you need a refresher, here’s a taste.
That’s exactly the kind of energy The Bear should be reengaging to recover from the stumbles of season three. And if Ever is coming in to provide that, they’ll be in good shape. Plus the episode co-written by Ayo Edebiri and Lionel Boyce.
All episodes of The Bear S4 are dropping at once on June 25.
