Now you know I love me some JLo and this is all in jest, but Luiz Guzman’s “OK” is taking me out. His young co-stars were GAGGED. Has there ever been a more cutting shrug? 

 

What makes it even funnier is his timing is so restrained. His one-word description of every other celebrity was so thoughtful and complimentary. “OK.” 

 

Speaking of JLO, Delola (her booze brand) hasn’t posted since February. A booze brand from a celebrity who quite famously does not drink! We can file this under “Bennifer Era” and write the whole thing off as a fever dream.

The TNT engagement “likes” are being closely watched (by me). Karlie Kloss liked, Blake Lively didn’t. Neither has Jack Antonoff. I also noticed a lot of people from the unofficial The Eras Tour squad haven’t liked it, including Ice Spice, Sophie Turner, Zoë Kravitz, Lena Dunham and the Haim sisters (collectively or from their own accounts). And it got me thinking: in a situation this grand, do “likes” actually mean you are on the outside looking in and don’t have access to the person on a day-to-day basis? Is it a flex to not like the post? They don’t need to “like” it because they can just text her. I would love to say this is a solid theory but Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez both liked it, and they are very close to her. If we consider how dominant the news has been, even a casual scroller would have to go out of the way to not see it. Or ignore it?

 

I have more to add to that: Keleigh Teller (wife of Miles Teller). She and Taylor were very close for a hot minute and I suspected months ago that things cooled off. We have the track list for The Life of a Showgirl and there are three tracks that stick out to me: “Elizabeth Taylor”, “Opalite”, “Ruin the Friendship”. Some people assume that “Ruin the Friendship” will be about Blake. I think Taylor’s songwriting deserves much analysis–  she weaves stories from her imagination and her inspiration, but that doesn’t mean a direct line back to her personal life. I can understand why it’s fun to be a Swiftie, it’s like constantly trying to solve a murder mystery without a body. But speaking of Elizabeth Taylor and friendships that appear to be ruined….

 

Mark Strong and Jeremy Strong are not brothers but could play them on TV. Have you ever noticed how smiley is Jeremy is now that he’s away from Succession? He always has this little grin on his face. Maybe it’s from getting away from Brian Cox. 

Last week, I wrote about how Austin Butler is developing a movie star touch with the press and then there was Julia Roberts in Venice, living it. At one event, she told the press that she had plans but was instead there with them, wink wink. Julia Roberts did not book a tour of Venice during a film festival. She is locked in. She is a professional. But do you see how that kind of charm draws them in, makes them laugh, loosens up the room? Because she makes everyone in her presence feel like they are all in it together, it’s a little conspiratorial, a little naughty but safe. They know she’s going to do her job so they can do their job. Damn she’s good.

 

In other Julia news, she was wearing Versace at that press conference, and the outfit was so good that Amanda Seyfried wanted in. Literally.
